With respiratory illness season arriving, the interest in Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) kits is increasing. RAT kits continue to be available for pharmacies to order from their distributors and there is sufficient supply.
If you do not have any stock of RAT kits please consider re-ordering them now. Please contact your pharmacy distributor if you are looking to order RAT kits. Note that some distributors only permit pharmacies to order RAT kits on specified days of the week please inquire with your distributor for support if it appears you cannot order the kits.
For this fall, pharmacies are likely to be the main place the public can obtain RAT kits from, as distribution programs in schools and industries are winding down.
Pharmacies are paid $75 for each case of RAT kits distributed and entered into PharmaNet with the PIN:
- 66128325 for a BTNX case
- 66128338 for an Artron case
See PharmaCare Policy Section 8.15 for details including PharmaNet instructions to claim the RAT kit distribution fee.
Extended RAT kits expiry date
All lot numbers of Artron rapid tests have been extended by 6 months. Refer to the BCCDC website for expiry date information. Let customers know they can add 6 months to the expiration date shown on the Artron package.
Expired tests that have not been extended should not be used and may be disposed of in regular waste.
