Pharmacies are required to have access to ImmsBC and enroll each year their interest to participate in the fall COVID-19 and influenza vaccination campaigns.
ImmsBC Requirement
ImmsBC is required for all pharmacies to provide influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations. Mandatory activities in ImmsBC include appointment scheduling, inventory management and documenting vaccine administration for payment and patient records.
ImmsBC for Minor Ailments and Contraceptive Services (MACS) is only used for appointment scheduling. MACS claims should continue to be processed in your pharmacy management system and service documentation maintained outside of ImmsBC.
ImmsBC is required for participation. Pharmacies not already enroled please enrol for ImmsBC access.
Annual Campaign Enrollment
To participate in the influenza and COVID-19 vaccination campaigns, independent and banner pharmacies need to enrol each year.
In 2023, Banner and independent pharmacies needed to complete the enrolment form (enrolment now closed) by August 11, 2023, in order to be included in allocation #1 of vaccines.
Chain pharmacies did not need to enroll individually, as your head office team enrolls for the whole group.
New pharmacies or pharmacies that missed the initial August 11, 2023 enrollment deadline can enroll anytime but would not be included with the first shipment of flu vaccines, also referred to as "allocation #1", but will still be able to participate in subsequent weeks.
ADDITIONAL REQUIRED STEPS:
- Pharmacies with existing ImmsBC access must reconcile their ImmsBC vaccine inventory by August 31, 2023.
- Before the end of August, pharmacies will receive information about their estimated flu vaccine allocations by email and fax and will be required to confirm the allocations on another online form within 2 weeks of receipt of the communication.
- A list of ImmsBC users enrolled under your pharmacy will also be provided and pharmacies will be required to review and update the list of users.
- Once a coordinated campaign start date is confirmed, pharmacies will be informed in advance to start setting up appointment availabilities.
