Disposal of unusable COVID-19 and influenza vaccines:
- Pharmacies are to dispose of unusable influenza and covid-19 vaccine doses e.g., from the previous respiratory immunization program, expired doses or affected by CCI and determined not usable from public health.
- Use your regular biomedical waste disposal process.
- Do not return unused vaccines to health units or distributors unless instructed to by BCPhA.
Record in ImmsBC:

- Be sure to carefully distinguish between “Wastage” and “Adjustment” as well as the difference between “Quantity” and “Doses”:
- Record all remaining doses as “Wastage”.
- Use the Adjustment function to reconcile your ImmsBC inventory where it reflects negative quantity.

Inventory reconciliation:

- At the end of every respiratory immunization program, reconcile your pharmacy’s ImmsBC supply location inventory to support smooth participation in the next season’s campaign.
- Update your ImmsBC inventory immediately to ensure accurate records.
ImmsBC transfers:

- Vaccine transfers are usually reflected in ImmsBC the day of delivery or the next day.
- If a transfer does not appear within 1 business day of receipt, complete the inventory stock remediation form.
