LTC/AL residents and staff may begin receiving influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations before the official coordinated campaign start date. LTC/AL clinics typically start as soon as vaccine supply is available in the province for the fall campaign. Health Authority program leads will communicate LTC/AL clinic start dates directly with your pharmacy.
Procuring Vaccine Inventory
Influenza and COVID-19 vaccines for use in LTC/AL facilities are procured from the Health Authority. In most cases the Health Authority will work with the facility to determine the number of doses needed and either the facility or pharmacy will pick-up the vaccine. Pharmacies should confirm with each facility they are servicing what the process is for procuring their vaccines.
