ImmsBC data entry and payment
Publicly funded COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations must be entered into ImmsBC (not PharmaNet):
- Information entered in ImmsBC is automatically transferred to:
- PharmaNet for fee payment to pharmacies, and
- Provincial Immunization Registry (PIR) to update the patient's immunization history (for clinical purposes)
- If a vaccine administration record is incorrectly submitted to ImmsBC, payment will not be received.
- The administration fee for publicly funded vaccines is $12.10 to an eligible B.C. resident.

A vaccine administration fee will not be paid when a publicly funded vaccine is administered to a non-B.C. resident. Pharmacies cannot charge individuals when administering publicly funded vaccines. Refer non-B.C. residents to the Provincial Call Centre for appointment booking at a public health clinic (Provincial Call Center – 1-833-838-2323). Reconciling ImmsBC administration claims
A Pharmacy Remittance Advice Form can be requested from Health Insurance BC (HIBC), which shows vaccine administrations and fees entered in ImmsBC. To obtain a breakdown to the individual record level, request for the Service Claim Adjudication Outcome report from the HIBC PharmaCare Helpdesk.
ImmsBC reports
The following reports can be directly obtained from ImmsBC to review COVID-19 and influenza drug administration records. When using these reports be sure to open the ‘filter’ options and enter your clinic location name and the date range you want to investigate:
1. Report: All Complete Pharmacy Imms: This report will provide the total number of ImmsBC records entered during date range you are investigating.

2. Report: Complete Pharmacy Imms w/ Success Claims: This report will provide the total number of ImmsBC records that have resulted in a successful PharmaNet claim during the date range you are investigating. Note that one of the columns called “Claim:Created date”, provides the date that the claim was submitted to PharmaNet, which can inform you whether a claim may have been delayed and submitted in the month following the actual ImmsBC entry date.

3. Report: Complete Pharmacy Imms w/o Success Claim: This report will provide the total number of ImmsBC records that failed to generate a PharmaNet claim. The ImmsBC team will re-process these claims.

COVID-19 and influenza vaccine administration fees
All COVID-19 and publicly funded influenza vaccinations must be entered into ImmsBC (not PharmaNet). Information entered in ImmsBC is automatically transferred to PharmaNet for fee payment to pharmacies and will also be transferred to the Provincial Immunization Registry (PIR) to complete the patient's immunization history (for clinical purposes). If a pharmacy does not correctly submit a vaccine administration record to ImmsBC they will not receive payment.
- COVID-19 vaccine administration fee is $12.10 per administration to an eligible B.C. resident (standardized as of May 1, 2025).
- Publicly funded influenza vaccine administration fee is $12.10 when given to a B.C. resident.
Non-B.C. residents:
A vaccine administration fee will not be paid when a publicly funded influenza or COVID-19 vaccine is administered to a non-B.C. resident. Pharmacies cannot charge individuals when administering publicly funded vaccines. Refer non-B.C. residents to the Provincial Call Centre for appointment booking at a public health clinic (Provincial Call Center – 1-833-838-2323).
As part of the informed consent process, when a vaccine is publicly funded in B.C., a pharmacist must provide information regarding the client’s publicly funded options prior to discussing potential alternate private vaccine options. Pharmacies can charge clients for private vaccines (regardless of whether they are a B.C. resident or not).

Non-pharmacist vaccine administration
Pharmacies can claim the vaccine administration fee when influenza or COVID-19 vaccine is administered by an authorized health professional, including:
- Registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs) (must be a BCCNM member)
- Pharmacy students, under supervision of a full pharmacist certified to administer injections, and
- Medical students, under the supervision of a licensed practitioner (as of April 2024)

Private influenza vaccine
Pharmacies offering private influenza vaccines should begin offering these vaccines around the same time as the public campaign start date to avoid confusion.
Patients choosing to pay for private stock must first be made aware of their options to receive a publicly funded option at no cost.
PharmaNet entry requirements
Private supply of influenza vaccinations must continue to be entered into PharmaNet and must not be documented in ImmsBC. For the 2025/2026 fall season, several publicly funded influenza vaccine products are also available for private purchase. PharmaCare has updated the Publicly funded vaccines webpage with the list of PINs that must be used when recording a claim in PharmaNet for the following private influenza vaccines:
If providing these products as private supply, enter the following PINs in PharmaNet, and your CPBC ID in the Prescriber ID field:
- Flumist (trivalent) nasal spray, PIN 66128578
- Fluzone (trivalent) (prefilled syringe), PIN 66128576
- Fluzone (trivalent) multi-dose vial, PIN 66128577
- Fluad (trivalent), PIN 66124872
If the product is only available for private purchase, continue to enter the product DIN in PharmaNet.
Pharmacies can submit the drug administration fee ($11.41) using PIN 66128366 for non-publicly funded vaccines administered to B.C. residents. This is done separately to the drug claim.
